The Details premiere with Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, and Kerry Washington

I wasn't going to go to this premiere but then decided last second to try it.  For some odd reason I had gotten it in my mind that maybe . . . just maybe . . . Tobey Maguire would put his scrooge-ish ways away for a night, embrace the Halloween spirit, and for one night only be a nice guy, and maybe sign one autograph, or take one picture with a fan.   He did none of the above.  Tobey Maguire basically completely ignored the ten fans who were there wanting an autograph.  This guy is not nice.

But Dennis Haysbert is pretty nice.  I didn't have time to bring any photos so I just got him to sign a baseball for me.  He's one of the few celebs that knows you have to sign a baseball in ball point on the sweetspot.  The whole time Dennis was signing I just felt like I was in good hands for some reason.

Ray Liotta is also pretty cool.  I had a Field of Dreams 11x14 along and also a baseball.  I got both signed and that alone was a good night for me (I really like Field of Dreams).

And Kerry Washington also came right over when we called her.  She's been really cool recently.  If it's low key she likes to only sign one each.  I didn't have any photos along so I just helped a buddy with this stuff.

That is all for this premiere.

Silent Hill Revelations Premiere with Kit Harington & Adelaide Clemens

This was an interesting premiere.  A few days before I heard most people from the cast were going to show up, then the night before I heard only Kit Harington and Adelaide Clemens were going to come.   I was holding out hope that Sean Bean, Carrie-Anne Moss, Radha Mitchell, or Malcolm McDowell might show up, but they did not.  Only Kit and Adelaide came and I was OK with that because I really like Kit in Game of Thrones.

Kit did press really quickly and then signed for the fans.  I've met him a few times and he's always been really nice and great about signing.  He was the same tonight.  He was even in a hurry and still found the time to sign for every fan there.  Super cool dude.  I got him on six 11x14s and one 8x10s.

While Kit was super nice and made sure he signed for everyone there, Adelaide Clemens did not.  She maybe signed 20 autographs total.  Luckily she came right to me first so I was able to get two 11x14s done.  But her quick signing did not give me encouragement that she will be an easy autograph to get in the future.

That's it for this one.  I was happy just to get Jon Snow.

Flight premiere: Epic Fail

I graphed the Flight premiere this week mostly because I really wanted a Denzel Washington autograph  on a Training Day poster 11x14 for my wall (love that movie).  Well, unfortunately all that was waiting for me at the premiere was heartbreak and sorrow.  Denzel didn't sign all night.  Robert Zemeckis didn't sign all night.  John Goodman, Don Cheadle, and James Badge Dale didn't even show up (and I would really like to get James on The Pacific and The Departed but I have no luck with him).

All I got was two Bruce Greenwood 11x14s.  One Nadine Velazquez 11x14.  And Josh Radnor showed up and I added him to my HIMYM cast 11x14 signed by Jason Segal.

I was glad to get Nadine since she didn't show up to the The League premiere.
Josh was kind of rude to me in January when I tried to get him to sign this and he wasn't all that nice tonight either but at least he signed.

All in all a pretty crappy premiere.

Chasing Mavericks premiere with Jonny Weston, Leven Rambin, Gerard Butler, and Elisabeth Shue

I graphed the Chasing Mavericks premiere in large part because I haven't done any events all week.  I figured it would be a relatively quick and low key night and for the most part it was.

They did some pretty cool promotional stuff with some sutfboards on and around the carpet.

The first celeb to show was Jonny Weston and I had two 11x14 photos of him along and got them both signed.  I had never dealt with him before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but he was a pretty nice guy and good about signing.  Even after signing a bunch he apologized and said he was sorry but he had to go do carpet.

Leven Rambin was also really nice as usual and I had brought two 11x14 photos along and I got them both signed.

Elisabeth Shue is kinda rare so I was pretty happy to get her autograph.  I used to run around the house pretending I was Daniel-son from Karate Kid when I was little so of course I like Elisabeth.

Then Gerard Butler came and it kind of turned a little crazy.  He didn't sign in the area where cars dropped, so all the graphers followed him onto the carpet.  I had stayed on the carpet in my spot the whole time and when he walked over by us he grabbed my sharpie and signed my photo then got bombarded with photos and just dropped the sharpie on the ground the left having only signed one autograph.  He didn't sign anymore so I was the only one to get an autograph from Gerard before the movie (I didn't stick around after so maybe he signed more then).

And I got some video of Gerard on the carpet:

I've had this Rocknrolla 11x14 signed by Idris Elba for a long while now so I was glad to finish the combo.

That's all for this one.

Dolph Lundgren says "I must break you!"

The Rocky movies are a classic series and have a huge place in the history of cinema, and Dolph Lundgren did a great job of portraying the unstoppable villain Drago in Rocky IV.  So whenever I see Dolph I like to get his autograph on boxing gloves.  Well I was lucky enough to get to see Dolph this week and get his autograph on a few gloves.

First I got him on two gloves and just had him sign them.

And then later I got him on another glove and asked him to write, "I must break you!" his classic line from Rocky IV.  Dolph laughed about it and said, "It's such a Shakespearian line isn't it?".

Sons of Anarchy Hogs for Heart with: Charlie Hunnam, Ryan Hurst, Kim Coates, Ron Perlman, & more

Kim Coates was hosting a charity event to support his daughter's non-profit organization One Heart Source.  One Heart Source is designed to empower young people through education, and to provide high quality education and care for vulnerable children in Tanzania and South Africa.   In order to get into the event there was a hefty donation fee but I thought it was worth it to help support a good cause and get some face time and autographs from the SOA cast.

Pretty much every main cast member showed up besides Maggie Siff (who had a scheduling conflict), and everyone was really cool and signed a lot.  I started two new 11x14 cast pieces and I filled them both up in one night.  I got 13 signatures on both: Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman, Ryan Hurst, Kim Coates, Tommy Flanagan, Mark Boone Junior, Theo Rossi, Katey Sagal,  David Labrava, Dayton Callie, Christopher Reed, Emilio Rivera, and Michael Ornstein.

I took video of Kim thanking everyone and bringing the cast on stage including a newly beardless Ryan Hurst:

Since this was a classy-shirt-with-a-collar type of event I felt it rude to take flash pictures so I just took a few sneaking cell phone no flash pics throughout the night.

Below: Mark Boone Junior schmoozing with the crowd
Below: Kim Coates playing host, he worked the room all night
Below: Ron Perlman working his way through the crowd
Below: Katey Sagal signing a few autographs
Below: Theo Rossi chatting (he brought his girlfriend Sarah Jones along who played Polly Zobelle on the show and is now staring the the CBS show Vegas)

Now let's get to some autographs. I was probably most pumped to get some season 5 images done.  I finished a new Charlie and Ryan combo and also a four person 11x14.

Charlie also completed my Ryan combo that Ryan signed for me back in July and I also got him on a Green Street Hooligan 11x14.

I was honestly most excited to see Ryan because I'm not sure when I'll get to see him again.  I'm gonna miss him on the show and personally I didn't like the way he was killed off.  It seemed forced.  Almost as if there were ulterior motives from the writers.  They build up the character of Opie for the past four years and have his wife get murdered and then his dad get murdered.  If anyone deserved to live through the end of the series it's Opie.  The episode where Opie died even seemed forced.  Honestly I just hated everything about how he was killed off.  It was the first time I thought the plot line of the show was poorly written.

But I was happy to get Ryan to sign the six photos I had along that needed him.

I got my first ever Katey Sagal autograph with a character name.  I've personally never had her write "Gemma" before on anything I've gotten signed.

And lastly I brought my 11x14 dual shot that Rockmond Dunbar had already signed for me at the Season 5 premiere and Theo Rossi completed it for me.

That's it for this one, a cool night with cast members of a great show.

Al Pacino

Anytime I get a chance to go for a living legend that is also a good signer I am all over it.  So when I got word that Al Pacino was going to be out in Hollywood I made plans to be there.   It's kind of funny but I'm convinced that Al thinks it's funny when graphers act crazy for him.   He always seems to crack a smile when he sees us beating the crap out of each other just for his autograph.

But it was pretty low key when I got him this week (only a handful of people there) and we all stayed calm and didn't cover each other's photos so it went really smoothly.  I had three Pacino photos along and Al signed them all for me.  I went with variety: one 11x14 of Donny Brasco (signed by Depp already), one 11x14 of Godfather, and one 11x14 of Scarface.  The classics.
