Christina Aguilera out promoting Your Body

Christina Aguilera debuted her new music video for Your Body today and she has been making the publicity rounds around LA promoting the new single and video this week.  I've always thought voice-wise Christina is one the greatest talents of the last decade (the girl can sing dammit).

Well I was lucky enough to catch Christina while she was out doing publicity and she signed some autographs for the fans.  I had four 11x14s along and got all four signed, and I was pretty ecstatic about this because she doesn't always sign.  So I went home really happy.

Here's Christina's new video if you wanna check it out:

Giancarlo Esposito from Revolution and Breaking Bad

I have so much respect for Giancarlo Esposito as an actor.  Gustavo Fringe is one of the greatest characters in television history.  So when whenever Giancarlo is in town I like to go for him.  He was out promoting his new show Revolution, but I will probably always get him to sign Breaking Bad images.  I've got Giancarlo in my top 10 signers list for 2012 and he is easily one of the most friendly celebs you will ever come across.  He was in a hurry today but still took the time to sign and I got three 11x14s done.

Kaley Cuoco from The Big Bang Theory. Bazinga!

Oh Penny, you are the queen of the nerds. Has anyone else noticed that Penny has no last name on Big Bang?  Mayim Bailik's character is constantly called by her first middle and last name (Amy Farrah Fowler) but Kaley Cuoco is just "Penny".  At this point I almost hope the writer's just go the whole series without giving her a last name.  Like in the movie Layer Cake where you watch the whole thing without realizing you never learned Daniel Craig's character's name.

Anywho, Kaley Cuoco was out and about this week and I haven't seen her since January so I had to go for her.  She was nice and signed four 11x14s for me.

Pitch Perfect premiere with: Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Adam Devine, Freddie Stroma, and more

I graphed the Pitch Perfect premiere this week in large part because I've been hearing the movie is really good.  I decided from the beginning that this is a movie I should work on some cast pieces for.  So I went in with those as my priority.

I ended up doing pretty well with them.  I had three 12x18 cast pieces and I got six people on two cast photos and five people on the other.
Above: The top two have: Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Hana Mae Lee, Alexis Knapp, and John Michael Higgins on them.  The bottom has all the girls but not John Michael Higgins (decided to keep it all girls)

A big surprise on the night was Rebel Wilson not singing.  She was the only girl pictured in the poster shot at the premiere to not sign.  She was having no part of signing and did not sign one autograph the whole night.

I also saw Elizabeth Banks sneaking out the side of the theatre and had her one on one.  I asked her "Elizabeth can you please sign one autograph". I had one Effie Trinket 11x14 along.  Her response, "No I'm sorry I have to go".  Hey at least she was polite about it.

But one of the first pleasant surprises of the day was the Workaholics cast.  Adam Devine is in Pitch Perfect so I was guessing there was a very good chance Anders and Blake would show up to support their friend.  I was right.  I saw Blake Anderson first and he signed my four cast 11x14s.

Then a minute later Anders Holm came and he also signed my four cast 11x14s.

And after the movie Adam Devine came out and completed all my cast shots.  This alone would have been a good night, as I really like the show and think these guys are hilarious.

Tricia Helfer also came to watch the movie and I got one 8x10 signed by her.

Alexis Knapp was looking good when she signed and I added her to all three of my cast 12x18s.

Brittany Snow signed really quickly but I was able to get her on all three of my cast 12x18s.  I had an individual 11x14 along but I couldn't get to it in time.

Hana Mae Lee didn't sign for long but I was one of the first graphers to get to her so I was able to add her to all three of my 12x18 cast shots.

And Anna Kendrick was friendly as always and signed a good amount.  I added her to all three of my cast 12x18 but I was unable to get her on the one individual 11x14 I had along.

John Michael Higgins was very nice and I added him to two of my three cast 12x18s because I decided the purple background one should be just the girls.

Freddie Stroma plays Cormac McLaggen in the Harry Potter films so instead of putting him on my Pitch Perfect cast shots I put him on two Potter 11x14s.

Bella Thorne also showed up and I was able to get her on five 11x14s.  She won't sign in blue sharpie anymore, only black.  Celebrities take note: it is a myth that blue is somehow "transferable".  It's funny when I ask celebrities why they don't sign my blue they usually respond, "I'm not really sure why but someone told me it's transferable". That is erroneous on all counts.  Black and blue sharpie are the same thing and cannot be "transfered" from a photo. The only difference is blue tends to flow better and not dry up even if a celeb signs 1000 autographs, but black sharpie often does not write as fluidly as blue.  Plus it has been proven that over the course of time (10 to 20 years down the line) blue sharpie holds up better and stays as bold and blue as the day it was signed.  So serious collectors who want your autograph to last for 40+ years prefer it in blue because they treasure their collectibles and want the best flowing ink and something that will fade the least over time.

And lastly on the night Elizabeth Perkins showed up and I got her on two Weeds cast 11x14s I happened to have in my car.  She's rare so getting her on them in a big step towards completing them.

And that is all for this premiere.

People Stylewatch Denim Party with: Dania Ramirez, Kayla Ewell, Lacey Chabert, Taryn Manning, and Lydia Hearst

I graphed a fashion event tonight that was basically another in and out very little time committed style event.  I ended up getting a few people I was excited about though.

The first person I got was Kayla Ewell, and she was not easy.  I called her over and she hurriedly took my sharpie and said, "I'll do one".  I assumed that meant one each (there was only a small crowd of about six people there) but she meant she only wanted to sign one for me and nothing for everyone else.  She signed my one and tried to hand the pen back, but I wouldn't take it from her and she then signed about three more autographs for others then handed the pen to the security guy.  I managed to get one on the way out too.

Lacey Chabert was next and she was the exact opposite, she came right over when we called and was really really nice.  She signed every photo that was there (and some people had stacks). I only had two 11x14s along and I got them done easily.

Then Dania Ramirez came and I have really liked this girl ever since I saw her on The Sopranos.  I didn't have my photos of her along to get signed so I got a picture with her.

Then Lydia Hearst came and I had two photos along and she signed them both.  She also signed pretty much every photo there and she was still signing when I walked away for like five minutes to go try to spot other celebs.

And lastly I got Taryn Manning to sign my two 11x14s.  She said, "Guys I'll sign but only a couple. I get paid big bucks to do this now".  So apparently Taryn Manning has crossed over to the dark side of paid signings.

That's it.

Trouble with the Curve Premiere with Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Amy Adams, and Clint Eastwood

I did not think there was any chance Clint Eastwood was going to sign at this premiere, so I didn't commit much time or preparation into it.  I was really only going for Justin Timberlake.  So I got to the premiere right before it started and left right after it was done, a nice quick efficient day.  And Clint proved me right by not signing (he's old, so he has earned the right not to sign anymore in my opinion).

I was however shocked and elated when John Goodman signed.  He is tough and usually doesn't sign.  I only had one 11x14 along and I got it done pretty easily.  So this was a bonus for me.

Clint Eastwood arrived next and this is as close as he came to signing an autograph tonight.

And then Mr. Bringing Sexy Back himself Justin Timberlake arrived.  When is this dude going to make another album? Seriously Justified was released in 2002, Future Sex Love Sounds in 2006, and both did really well sales and awards wise.  It's been six years Justin, stop acting and go sing something.  You are much more culturally significant as a singer than actor.  Anyways, got Justin to sign three 11x14s and this was what I came for so I was happy.

Amy Adams also came and gave me an interesting experience.  She starts signing on my left and is moving my way when she suddenly looks up directly at me and says, "I already signed for you". What?!? Amy that's not even humanly possible. She had only signed about six autographs total at the time and all were to her right and I'm on her left.  But you can't convince a celebrity they are wrong so I didn't even try.  I just walked away.  My buddy who Amy had already signed two for saw this and grabbed a board out my hand and got it signed for me.  It's weird like that, sometimes a celebrity is so dead set on not signing multiples for one person that the grapher next to them can just flip photos and get tons. It's happened to me before and it will happen again.

That's it for this one. Only put in a couple hours so it was worth it.
