Mandy Patinkin Completes my Homeland Cast Pieces
I've never met Mandy Patinkin or gotten his autograph before, and back in 2012 during season two of Homeland I was saying it might be the best show on the air. Unfortunately, then season three came on the air, and it felt like a completely different show. It was such a momentous drop-off in quality, and for me it went from must watch tv in season one and two, two completely unwatchable in season three. But hey, I still fondly remember the quality of the show and it made me pretty happy to meet Mandy Patinkin recently and complete my three trio shots I started in 2012 that already had Claire Danes and Damian Lewis on them. Completing any two year projects makes me happy.

Chloe Grace Moretz from If I Say & The Equalizer
If I had to guess which current teenage actor will end up becoming a big megastar in a decade I would probably put my money on Chloe Moretz. She takes a lot of good roles in all kinds of different types of movies. She seems very nice and down to earth in person the times I've met her. I think her career path in most certainly on the upswing. So when she's out doing press events in Los Angeles, I like to go and get some autographs. Because who knows, maybe ten years from now she will be such a big megastar that I will be able to say "I got her autograph over a decade ago when she was just starting out".

Sam Smith! Stay With Me! Autographs! Photos!
I met British singer Sam Smith recently and he was ridiculously nice and friendly with the fans. He signed a ton for everyone, took pictures with anyone who asked, personalized items for fans who asked. He seemed like a humble and genuinely nice celeb. If you haven't checked out his music, go over to youtube and watch some his videos.

Ethan Hawke completes my Training Day
Back in 2012 I got Denzel Washington's autograph on a Training Day 11x14. Training Day is one of my favorite movies so I wanted to eventually get Ethan Hawke to sign the photo, and then frame it and put it up on my wall. The problem with that is Ethan Hawke is not someone you see all the time. I saw him in 2013 but it was only from 100 yards away and he didn't come over to sign. Other than that I had not seen him the last three years. Well luckily for me he was out recently. Unfortunately, I could not make it. But my buddies Pete and Andy were nice enough to take my photo and get it signed for me. Thank you fellas. This bad boy is going up on the wall.

Leonardo DiCaprio completes my The Departed cast shot
I've been working on a 11x14 The Departed cast piece for over two years. It's one of my favorite movies and something I collect for myself. Martin Scorsese signed it for me in February 2012. Matt Damon signed it for me in December 2012. And then I waited, and waited, and waited until February 2014 when I finally got a shot at Leonardo DiCaprio. I went to an event Leo was attending and luckily for me he signed and I got him on it. I'm especially happy with this piece because each person signed on themselves and each has a good flowing sharpie (this seems to never happen). It is now framed and on my wall.

Transcendence Premiere! Johnny Depp! Kate Mara! Rebecca Hall!
Absurd. That is the one word that best summarizes my day at the Transcendence premiere. Absurd. Events are getting more and more chaotic and the crowds seem be be acting more and more ravenous. But this premiere took it to a whole other level. I got absolutely brutally annihilated by the people around me. I was in the front row when Johnny signed, and this was easily the most pushing and shoving I have ever experienced from people behind me. After the premiere I was talking with a buddy and I made the comment that going out for autographs used to be fun, but recently it has just been work. . . hard laborious work. But hey, I got some Johnny Depp autographs, which I got none of in 2013, so that's cool. And I took some pics and video of the cast signing:

Captain America Winter Solider Premiere
If someone were to just read my blog posts they might think that I am always successful when I go out for autographs. That every event I go to, I get every person I want. But that is anything but the case. Often times my results are downright awful, but usually when those awful events happen I don't feel like taking the time to write a blogpost about them. Well I had one of those awful events at the Captain America Winter Soldier premiere.
Here is who I did not get: I did not get Chris Evans. I did not get Scarlett Johansson. I did not get Samuel L Jackson. I did not get Emily VanCamp. I did not get Anthony Mackie. And I did not get Stan Lee or Robert Redford (who both did not attend the premiere).
In other words . . . the premiere was a general disappointment.
But I didn't go home empty handed. I did get Hayley Atwell, Frank Grillo, and Sebastian Stan from the movie; and I got a few of the guests including many of the cast of Agents of SHIELD. Here's my pics of premiere:

Mr. Peabody & Sherman Premiere Autographs Photos
Here's my pics from the Mr. Peabody & Sherman premiere. Everyone at the premiere was nice and took some time out to sign for the fans. My cast piece 11x14 got 10 people on it and everybody signed in a flowing blue or black sharpie and no one really signed on top of each other. This is a rare feat. Dead sharpies are my nemesis, and seem to be handed out by so many newbies coming to their first premiere. Silver sharpies are the worst, followed closely in second worst by gold sharpies. Silvers and Golds need to be broken in (write with them on some paper or cardboard to get the tip flowing) and no one seems to do this; and they are only good for about a week before they dry up and should be thrown out (but other people seem to be hellbent on keeping their sharpies for years). Anyways, enough of my dead sharpie rant. Here are my pics from the premiere:
