I graphed a publicity party this week and it ended up being a really good event. I didn't know who was going to be at the event so I brought a huge crate filled with all my photos of anyone in their 20s and 30s along. At the end of the night I got a lot signed.
Darren Criss showed up and I quickly found my three 11x14 photos and he signed them all for me. On the shirtless one he even wrote a little note, "woah man inappropriate" and drew an arrow to his stomach.
This is a first right here. I got Chord Overstreet's autograph. He's tough. Like impossibly tough. I've seen him multiple times and this if the first time I've ever gotten his autograph.
Harry Shum is not tough, he's nice. He signed again tonight like he does almost every event he attends.
Corey Monteith is the definition of hit and miss. Sometimes he's the nicest guy alive and other times you see him he just ignores the crowd and doesn't sign. Tonight he was really really nice. He signed everything and was joking around with everyone there. I added him to the logo 11x14 above and my Rolling Stone 11x14 below.
One of my favorites actors showed up: Giancarlo Esposito. I got him on two 8x10s today.
Aaron Paul also came and signed. I have really bad luck getting Bryan Cranston so I'm done doing combo shots of Aaron and Bryan. Tonight I put Aaron on some combo shots with Giancarlo. Giancarlo had signed both 11x14s for me earlier in the week and I finished them tonight.
Krysten Ritter is pretty nice and a good signer. She just did an Esquire In Your Place photo shoot so I had a bunch of the 8x10 shots along from that and got them all signed.
Here is another first. I got Ryan Kwanten's autograph. First time ever. I've seen him probably eight times before this and never gotten him to sign. Ryan is strange in person. He almost never talks and he usually avoids fans like the plague. It would not at all surprise me if he has some social anxiety. The times I've seen him in person he's the polar opposite of the outgoing confident Jason Stackhouse character he plays on True Blood.
Katie Asleton plays my idea of the perfect wife (easy going, down to earth, funny, and watches football) in The League on FX. I had two 11x14s along and she signed them both for me.
Jessica Pare is usually pretty tough, but tonight she was pretty nice and signed a good amount. I got both my 11x14s signed and got a picture with her too.
Celebs don't get much more friendly than Stephen Moyer. He is really really outgoing and loves taking pictures with the fans and signing autographs. I had three 11x14s along and got them all signed.
Jessica Capshaw is a decent signer but really likes to try to only sign one each. I had one 8x10 along and got it signed.
Ne-Yo showed up and I had a microphone along and he signed it for me. Someone asked him "Is that a microphone". He looked at her and said, "Yes, this is a microphone. It will most likely be sold on eBay, and that's OK." then looked at me and said jokingly, "Just send me my 10% in the mail. Respect brother."
Kid Cudi also signed and I also got him to sign a microphone for me.
I remember over a year ago I tried to get Jaime King to sign my two 11x14 photos and failed. But tonight I got them signed. One year later success.
Steve Nash of the Los Angeles Lakers. Get healthy Steve, I'm pumped to watch you running the floor dishing out assists left and right.
JD Pardo showed up and I had a Revolution 11x14 along.
Ali Larter did not sign by the fan barricade but then signed down the street when her car was stuck in traffic. I got two 11x14s signed before her husband cut her off.
Jamie Foxx also showed up and signed a few autographs. I didn't get a picture of him signing but got him on one 11x14 from Django Unchained.
Same story with John Cho. Got him on one 11x14 but didn't get a picture of him signing. Other graphers might say he's tough, but I've always had good luck with John.
Teresa Palmer is really really nice. I saw her come out and realized I had two photos in the car for her. I had time to run to the car, get the photos, and run back and get them signed. One was a 12x18 red carpet shot and one was a 11x14 from I Am Number Four.
A very good night.
Congrats on the successes! Where would the Kid Cudi be for sale?
